1.2. DAAD Scholarships: How much is the Funding?

Scholarships from the DAAD do not have to be repaid. The DAAD Scholarships usually consist of a monthly payment and a travel allowance. The monthly scholarship payment of the DAAD scholarship is, for example, €861 for graduates and €1,200 for doctoral/Ph.D. students. In many cases, DAAD also provides you with health, accident, and personal liability insurance.

The length and level of funding vary for different study types. Master or postgraduate international students receive a monthly scholarship of €861. The standard funding period is two years. After obtaining unconditional acceptance into doctoral studies at a German University, Ph.D. Students receive a scholarship of €1.200 per month. The standard funding period for Ph.D. scholars is three years.

The Konrad-Adenauer Scholarship is also funding research stays in Germany for a minimum of three semesters.

3. Kofi Annan MBA Scholarships

The Kofi Annan Scholarship is for emerging leaders with a desire to contribute to the growth of their home country.

Scholarships are available for a two-year Masters in Management (MIM) course or one year of full-time MBA education at German universities.

To apply, students must hold a Bachelor’s degree with high-quality academic records. International applicants must have strong English language skills and a desire to contribute to the growth of his/her home country.

3.1. Kofi Annan MBA Scholarships: How much is the Funding?

The Kofi Annan Scholarship program supports the candidates with a full tuition fee for the courses.

For example, €25,000 for Masters in Management students and €43,500 for MBA students plus visa and travel expenses and renting costs and insurance.

4. Heinrich Böll Scholarships

The Heinrich Böll Foundation provides scholarships to international Ph.D. students of all academic subjects and nationalities who plan to study in Germany.

Scholarships are awarded to students who have been socially and politically engaged, have above the average academic records, and have an interest in the core values of the foundation of democracy and human rights, ecology and sustainability, self-determination, and justice.

4.2. Heinrich Böll Scholarships: How much is the Funding?

The Heinrich Böll scholarship provides €850 per month for Masters Courses along with additional individual allowances. The scholarship amount for the Ph.D. study is €1,000 per month, with an additional €100 travel allowance per month. International students receive the amount for the regular period of study.

The Goethe Goes Global (GGG) Masters Scholarships are an excellent opportunity to pursue one of many research-based Master’s degree programs that would lead to a Ph.D. The special focus of the Goethe Goes Global (GGG) Masters Scholarship is on research.

5.1. Goethe Goes Global Masters Scholarships: How much is the Funding?

The scholarship will provide international students with living allowances, round trip travels and a monthly stipend of €1,000. In addition, the students will receive mentorship and have the option to write the Master's thesis or to take part in an internship within their research unit.
